Justin Timberlake Arrives at Hamptons Court to Accept Plea Deal in DWI Case

Pop star Justin Timberlake has arrived at Southampton Town Court in the Hamptons, New York, where he is expected to plead guilty to a misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge.

Timberlake was arrested in the early hours of July 31, 2021, after police pulled him over in his Cadillac Escalade for driving erratically. He was reportedly found to have a blood alcohol level of .18, more than twice the legal limit.

The plea deal is expected to include a fine, a suspended license, and a requirement to complete an alcohol education program. Timberlake's lawyer, Brian Flannery, said in a statement that his client "takes this matter very seriously and regrets his actions." Timberlake's arrest came just days after he performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. He had been scheduled to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 26, but he withdrew from the show following his arrest. The DWI charge is Timberlake's first brush with the law. He has been married to actress Jessica Biel since 2012, and they have two children together. Timberlake's plea deal is expected to be finalized later today. He is scheduled to appear in court again on September 24 for sentencing.
