F1 Argentina 1995

1995 Formula One Grand Prix of Argentina

The 1995 Formula One Grand Prix of Argentina, officially known as the XVIII Gran Premio Marlboro de la Republica Argentina, was a Formula One motor race held on 9 April 1995 at the Autódromo Oscar Alfredo Gálvez in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the second race of the 1995 Formula One season and the 18th Argentine Grand Prix. The race was won by Damon Hill, driving a Williams-Renault, with David Coulthard in second position for Williams-Renault and Johnny Herbert taking third place for Benetton-Renault. Michael Schumacher, driving a Benetton-Renault, finished fourth after a collision with Herbert on the final lap.

The race was notable for the high-profile retirements of both Ayrton Senna, who led the early stages of the race before retiring due to an engine failure, and Michael Schumacher, who retired after a collision with Herbert on the final lap.

The win was Hill's first Grand Prix victory and Williams' first victory since the 1994 Australian Grand Prix. It was also Renault's first victory in Formula One since the 1983 Dutch Grand Prix.
